3STEP HANDS-ON is a 3-day masterclass offering an innovative approach to masticatory and occlusal function in the treatment of patients with functional problems. In this hands-on masterclass, we continue to work with Dr. Francesca Vailati’s renowned 3STEP method – a minimally invasive approach using additive adhesive prosthetics for the treatment of worn dentitions. Over three intensive days, participants will be guided deeper into the method – a learning process that would typically require years of postgraduate training and clinical experience.

This hands-on course is designed to explain the technical aspects of the 3STEP technique, based on the real-life treatment of a patient by Francesca Vailati in her private clinic. Participants will carry out the correct occlusal adjustments on articulated models and present their own additive veneers – produced by their dental laboratory technicians based on the case. Each restoration will be photographed and reviewed individually by Francesca Vailati to train the participants' clinical eye and provide their technicians with feedback on the prosthetic work.

The course includes one-year access to Francesca Vailati’s e-learning program "Classic 12-hour 3STEP Method Course". Completion of the e-learning course is a mandatory preparation, as Dr. Vailati expects all participants to be thoroughly prepared before attending the hands-on training.

The Instructor

Dr. Francesca Vailati holds a medical degree from the University of Bari, Italy, completed in 1996. She later moved to the United States, where she earned her dental degree (DMD) from the University of Pennsylvania in 2000.

In 2003, she became a certified prosthodontist in Pennsylvania and also obtained a Master’s degree in Dentistry from the University of Connecticut.

She returned to Europe in 2004 and worked with Professor Urs Belser at the University of Geneva, Switzerland, until 2020.

Dr. Vailati now runs a private clinic in Geneva dedicated to the rehabilitation of worn and dysfunctional dentitions. In July 2022, she published a comprehensive book on her 3STEP method, documenting patient cases followed for over 15 years.

The course is aimed at dentists; all professional groups are welcome. You may wish to bring your dental assistant for the exercises—or a dental technician with whom you collaborate closely.
