3-Day Course with Dr. John Chu

Dr. John Chu from Taiwan teaches direct composite restorations in the aesthetic zone with an exceptional level of precision and artistry. The aim is to create restorations that reproduce the natural tooth in terms of translucency, depth, texture and morphology — while remaining minimally invasive and functionally durable.

During the theoretical lecture on Day 1 and the intensive hands-on course on Day 2 & 3, Dr. John Chu will share his advanced techniques for direct composite restorations with a strong focus on natural tooth morphology, colour layering and biomimetic restorative concepts.

The course combines lectures, live demonstrations and extensive hands-on training, allowing participants to work intensively with shape, texture and morphology under the guidance of Dr. John Chu.

It is possible to attend the lecture on Day 1 as a stand-alone educational experience without participating in the hands-on sessions on Day 2 & 3. Sign up only for the 1 Day Theoretical Lecture HERE

Participation in the hands-on training requires attendance on Day 1.

The Instructor

John graduated from the Chung Shan Medical University (CSMU) in 2002. He began working at CDC dental clinic in 2010 and subsequently founded the Zimmer Orange Study Club in 2013.

He teaches advanced techniques and strategies in composite layering, focusing on color and structure, the biomimetic concept and the morphology of anterior teeth.

Course Objectives

This course begins with the histology of enamel and dentin, guiding participants to understand the optical behaviour of natural teeth - colour, value, translucency, structure, and surface texture.
On this foundation, we develop a structured composite layering strategy based on colour mapping and biomimetic principles, enabling clinicians to plan and execute anterior composite restorations (Class IV, resin veneers) in a predictable way, and to finish and polish them to achieve a natural, long-lasting result.
