The model's gingiva can be folded out to the sides so the patient can see tartar, exposed roots and bone resorption. It is used to educate the patient about periodontal disease, subgingival calculus - and to instruct on tooth brushing. The model has anatomically rooted teeth with calculus. There is advanced periodontal disease such as hypoplasia, gingival cleft and gingival retraction. There is aplasia of 36 resulting in elongated 26.
