About the course

This course has been developed with a strong passion for periodontology and a desire to strengthen the collective competencies of the entire dental team — both dentists and dental hygienists — in delivering more systematic, efficient, and consistent periodontal care. It is designed for those who seek clear structures, well-defined roles, and stronger collaboration within the clinic, ensuring that patients experience a safe, coherent, and highly professional treatment journey.

You will gain practical tools, checklists, and templates that can be implemented directly in the clinic, providing clarity, direction, and clinical confidence — whether you are a dentist, dental hygienist, or dental assistant.

The course focuses both on the clinical aspects of periodontal treatment and on how the team can work together most effectively across examination, diagnosis, treatment planning, re-evaluation, and maintenance.

The programme consists of two modules which together provide a comprehensive framework for a modern, structured approach to periodontal care. At the centre is the patient — and your team’s ability to create a sense of trust, continuity, and measurable outcomes in treatment.

You will leave the course with new inspiration, practical tools, and a shared professional direction that strengthens both the quality of care and collaboration within the clinic.

N.B. The modules can be attended separately – but for the full learning experience, we recommend taking them together.

The Teachers

We are proud to present two highly competent instructors for this course, both of whom work closely together in their daily clinical practice.

Dentist and Periodontist Rikke Wedell Nielsen
Rikke holds dual qualifications as a dental hygienist (2001) and dentist (2008), and has always had a strong interest in the treatment of periodontitis. She has completed numerous courses in periodontology and surgery, both in Denmark and abroad.
Rikke is the owner of a private clinic in Løgstør, which receives referrals for complex periodontal treatments and periodontal surgery. For several years, she has hosted after-hours meetings for dental hygienists at the clinic to encourage knowledge sharing and professional dialogue.

Dental Hygienist Signe Kirkelund
Signe graduated as a dental hygienist in 2011 and works at Tandlægerne Løgstør. Over the years, she has continuously pursued further training in periodontology and has played a key role in developing the clinic’s structured approach to periodontitis treatment.
