Short about the course

Welcome to a practical, full-day course for the entire dental clinic team - dentists, dental hygenists, and dental assistants - focusing on Class V cavities and the management of root caries.
The course combines theory, hands-on exercises, and interdisciplinary dialogue. Participants will gain concrete knowledge of indications, material selection, techniques, and quality assurance related to cervical restorations – on both the crown and root surfaces of the tooth.
In addition, dental hygienists will receive targeted training to perform restorative procedures as delegated tasks, when approved by the dentist.
The course equips the entire team to work more efficiently, safely, and in a coordinated manner – with the patient at the center and high quality as the shared goal.
The course is offered in collaboration with GC Denmark, which sponsors materials and more.

Topics

THEORY & HANDS-ON: CERVICAL RESTORATIONS

  • We begin with short, hands-on “appetizer” exercises, giving you the opportunity to work directly with the materials and get to know their properties – how they behave and what to pay special attention to during clinical procedures.
  • We then move straight into a dynamic mix of concise, focused theory and hands-on training using phantom models.
  • You will work with both glass ionomer cement and composite materials – applied to realistic patient cases where we assess indications, advantages, and limitations together.
  • We take a close look at clinical decision-making: What should you do when a cervical restoration is no longer functioning optimally? Can it be improved with a refurbishment or repair, or is it time for a full replacement?
