A 2-day course in clinically relevant adhesive workflows with Dentist Daniel Taro Okuno

Short about the course

Bonding is the foundation of modern restorative dentistry. Yet many dentists still experience debonding, postoperative sensitivity, marginal issues, and unpredictable outcomes - often without fully understanding why.

This 2-day course with Dentist Daniel Taro Okuno is designed to bridge the gap between chemistry, biology, and clinical practice, providing you with concrete, practical tools that can be implemented directly in everyday clinical work.

The course is based on the instructor’s more than 20 years of clinical and materials-based experience with adhesive systems, including extensive work with modern MDP-based adhesives.

The Teacher

Dentist Daniel Taro Okuno is the principal dentist at Ordruptand - a clinic where aesthetics and clinical precision merge, and where the patient experience is always at the center. Here, dentistry is practiced as a discipline in which calmness, safety, and respect for detail go hand in hand with modern odontological principles. The clinic is equipped with high-end solutions, and every treatment is driven by an ambition to combine optimal function with pain-free comfort. Daniel is also highly deliberate in his choice of materials and techniques in daily practice.

Many may know Daniel as a passionate educator at the Danish Dental Association’s Annual Congress, as well as from his former role over several years as a representative for RH Dental and Kuraray, where he has taught and communicated clinical bonding workflows.

Target group

Dentists - both newly qualified and experienced - who seek greater confidence, predictability, and long-term durability in their adhesive treatments.

What is the course about?

The course provides you with a deep yet clinically relevant understanding of:

  • how bonding truly works on dentin, enamel, metal, porcelain, zirconia, and resin

  • why some adhesive treatments last for years while others fail prematurely

  • how to choose the right strategy rather than relying on a “one-size-fits-all” approach

The focus is not on theory for theory’s sake, but on clinical decision-making, error prevention, and predictability.

Learning outcomes

After the course, you will:

  • have a clear understanding of adhesive principles, whether you are new or experienced

  • be able to select and apply bonding and cementation strategies with greater confidence

  • understand the role of MDP monomers and when chemical bonding is essential

  • be able to perform veneer cementation and conventional cementation with increased assurance

  • understand the rationale and practical application of Immediate Dentin Sealing (IDS)

  • know how to avoid the most common clinical errors
