Cairns ● Great Barrier Reef ● Brisbane ● Sydney ● Blue Mountains

Australia is vast, raw, full of contrasts, and academically ambitious. On this dental study trip, Dentalinstituttet combines participation in Australia’s largest dental conference – ADX in Brisbane – with a carefully curated academic program and spectacular nature experiences

The journey begins in the tropical north in Cairns, where the Great Barrier Reef sets the stage for our first days. Here, we experience the world’s largest coral reef from the sea on a two-day boat trip with plenty of opportunities for snorkeling.

After ADX, we travel south to Sydney, which will be our base for some of Australia’s most iconic experiences – the Blue Mountains, coastal landscapes, wildlife, and vibrant city life.

Throughout the journey in Australia, we will have academic sessions focusing on:

  • Splint therapy for snoring in general practice
  • Minimally invasive restorative and aesthetic treatments
  • New biocompatible and restorative materials

We will benefit from professional knowledge exchange, reflection, and discussion in informal settings. The level of instruction is expected to be high, and the program is curated with the same academic rigor as Dentalinstituttet’s other study trips.

We fly from Copenhagen to Cairns with stopovers in Amsterdam and Singapore. After experiencing the Great Barrier Reef in Cairns, we fly to Brisbane to attend the ADX Dental Conference for three days. From there, we fly to Sydney and travel to surrounding areas such as the Blue Mountains, where we spend a few days.

On the return journey, we fly from Sydney to Copenhagen with a single stop in Singapore.

The trip takes place during weeks 41 and 42, making the most of the autumn break when many dental clinics are closed.

The professional program is primarily intended for dentists, but all interested participants are welcome.

Price:
DKK 59,000 per person in a double room (excluding the professional program)
Supplement for single room: DKK 11,500
Supplement for professional program: DKK 12,000

The prices include flights, hotels with a minimum of 4 stars, and a wealth of experiences. All breakfasts, 5 lunches, and 5 dinners are included. Beverages are not included.

Please note that the Scottish airline Logan Air holds a monopoly on flights to the Shetland Islands, making airfare relatively expensive. Hotel prices are also high despite basic and worn facilities. Tourist capacity is limited, which contributes to the uniqueness of the experience. Be prepared to take the rough with the smooth—and enjoy the breathtaking nature, if not the hotel.

Upon registration, a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total trip price is required. The registration becomes binding for both the participant and Dentalinstituttet once the deposit is paid. The remaining balance is due in June 2026.

Terms and Conditions

We reserve the right to change locations and activities in the program if necessary due to external circumstances or to optimize the overall experience. Should the trip be cancelled entirely, the standard rules for refunding package travel apply. Our technical travel provider is Hannibal Travel, registered with the Danish Travel Guarantee Fund under reg. no. 1676.

Upon registration, a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total trip price is required. Registration becomes binding for both the participant and Dentalinstituttet once the deposit has been paid. The remaining balance is due in June 2026. As Dentalinstituttet is financially committed to all expenses after final registration, the trip is non-refundable in case of cancellation. Therefore, it is important to have your own cancellation insurance.

If, within 14 days before departure, events such as acts of war, natural disasters, life-threatening infectious diseases, or similarly serious incidents occur, the trip may be cancelled free of charge. However, this is conditional upon the Danish authorities (such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, health authorities, or other public institutions) officially advising against travel to the affected area, and that the event occurred after the trip was booked.

It is the participant’s own responsibility to ensure eligibility for entry into Australia on a tourist visa.

Insurance
Participants are responsible for arranging their own travel insurance as well as any optional cancellation insurance.

Tax Deductibility
